AUGUST 1-3, 2019The annual collaborative Summer Conference sponsored by the Maryland/DC, Delaware, and Virginia chapters of the American Choral Directors Association
Voices United brings together nationally recognized leaders in choral music education, regional leaders, and directors of choirs from elementary to adult representing Virginia, Maryland/DC, and Delaware for three days of learning and doing. ACDA conferences combine interest sessions with hands-on demonstrations of teaching and conducting as each headliner works with an ensemble over the course of the conference, resulting in a performance of Honor Choirs the final day. At ACDA conferences, participants do not simply take notes. We sing through repertoire appropriate for our students, search through boxes of music on behalf of our choirs, work on our conducting gestures, and network with teachers and directors from across the three states regarding recruitment, best practices in choral music education, and avenues for personal growth. Voices United is an active, participatory conference that builds skills and develops leadership in choral music education.
